Hobart Sports Information
Hobart College first year Head Coach T.W. Johnson recently
announced the lacrosse team's 2009 schedule. The Statesmen will
play six home games and eight away contests in their 107th varsity
season.
Hobart will begin the season with a three-game road trip over eight
days visiting Saint Joseph's on Feb. 21, Binghamton on Feb. 24, and
Providence on Feb. 28. The meeting with the Friars will be the
first for the Statesmen.
A three-game homestand will mark Hobart's home debut on March 7
when the Statesmen host Bucknell on McCooey Field, followed by ECAC
Lacrosse League home games against Georgetown on March 14 and
Rutgers on March 21.
Hobart will alternate home and away games for the next four weeks
of the campaign, visiting Syracuse for the Kraus-Simmons game on
March 24 and hosting Fairfield on March 28. The Statesmen will
travel to Penn State on April 4 and return to Geneva for an April
11 showdown with UMass. The home and away string is capped off by a
trip to New York City to face St. John's on April 17 and a home
contest with I-90 rival Canisius on April 21.
Hobart will wrap up the year with visits to Loyola on April 25 and
Cornell on May 2. The showdown with the Big Red will be the 129th
meeting between the two schools, one of the oldest rivalries in
collegiate sports.
The Statesmen are coming off an 8-6 season and welcome back 30
lettermen, including five starters.
All of Hobart's games will be broadcast live by WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3)
in Geneva. Additionally, home games will feature online video
streaming and Live Stats.Hobart Sports Information.
