Bellarmine downs Blue Hose 17-12

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine lacrosse team got goals from 10 different players en route to posting a 17-12 victory over the Presbyterian Blue Hose today in an NCAA Div.I non-conference game today at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.
Bellarmine Coach Jack MGetrick used virtually every player available, and leading the Knights' balanced attack was Sean Doyle, who rang up four goals and an assist and upped his season goal total to a team-leading 23.
Bellarmine (6-3) opened the game by jumping out to 6-2 lead
early in the second quarter. After trading goals, the Blue
Hose scored the final three of the first half to close within 7-6
at halftime.
After D.J. Brown pulled Presbyterian even at 7-7 early in
the third period, Bellarmine went on a 5-1 run--bolstered by
three goals by Doyle--to take back control of the game with an
12-8 lead.
The Blue Hose climbed back with two straight goals, but the
Knights responded with a 5-0 run to give Bellarmine an
insurmountable 17-10 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the
game. Presbyterian (1-7) tacked on two more goals to make the
final margin five.
Bellarmine now moves into exclusive ECAC play to close out their
season with their next game scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. when
they host Fairfield.
