Silberlicht singled out for saves against SU

A week ago today, Hobart lacrosse senior
goalie Max Silberlicht stood on his head against
second-ranked Syracuse. That performance earned him LAXnews.com Player of
the Week honors.
Against the Orange, Silberlicht made a career-high 23 saves in a 9-8 overtime loss. That’s the second highest save total in a Division I men’s lacrosse game this season. SU came into the game averaging 12.4 goals per game. Silberlicht also stopped nine of 16 shots in 24 minutes of work at Fairfield.
Through seven games, Silberlicht is fourth in the nation in save percentage (.618) and 19th in goals against average (9.09). He leads the ECAC Lacrosse League in saves per game (13.43) and is second in save percentage. As a team, the Statesmen lead the nation in saves per game (14.86) and rank 19th in scoring defense (9.29 gpg).
Hobart (2-5, 0-2) will make its first trek to the Mile High City since 2003 to square off with conference rival Denver (5-4, 0-0) on Sat., April 3. Faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. (1 p.m. MST).
