Former Air Force head lacrosse coach Fred Acee was inducted into the SUNY Cortland C-Club Hal of Fame during its 42nd-annual banquet and ceremonies on Oct. 30. Acee, a 1963 graduate of Cortland, was one of six inductees in the 2010 class.

Five Buckeyes Named Captain for 2011 Lacrosse Squad
The five captains for the 2011 Ohio State men's lacrosse team were announced at the team's annual banquet Sunday. The group includes seniors Jarred Bowman, Conor David, Scott Lathrop and Bryce Woodson and junior Brock Sorensen. The captains were selected by a vote of their teammates. The five selected were part of a group of players who indicated an interest in leading the team before practice began and auditioned throughout fall camp.

The Ohio State men's lacrosse team is in the middle of its fall schedule and will hold its annual alumni game Friday night under the lights at the Harmon Family Football Park. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. the current Buckeyes will take on the alumni squad, followed by an alumni game and the Scarlet vs. Gray game for the current players on adjacent fields about 7:15 p.m. The games are open to the public.

While most college students spent the summer reconnecting with friends, Ward, a sophomore goalkeeper, was playing for the Orangeville Northmen of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League (OLA). The OLA is one of the top lacrosse leagues for juniors (players aged 17-21) in Canada.

ECAC Lacrosse League Will Hold Championship Tournament Starting in 2011
Commissioner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rudy Keeling has announced that after a majority league vote, the ECAC Lacrosse League will now have a final four format tournament at the end of the season to determine both the ECAC Lacrosse League champion and the recipient of the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Lacrosse Championship.

In a vote by league coaches, the Loyola University Greyhounds have been chosen as the favorites to capture the 2010 ECAC Lacrosse League title. This is the first time the Greyhounds have been tabbed the preseason favorite after a 10-year run by Georgetown.

In a vote by the league coaches, University of Denver players clinched two major preseason awards and had three team members named to the 2010 Preseason All-ECAC team.
